Roots test every Tuesday. Study Roots 1-6, then Roots 7 each night this week, writing down the root word, definition, 3 example words, and one sentence using one example word and context clues! We will write our in-class essay this week, and have a Blood on the River Final. They will receive a study guide next week. We will also test all 50 states this week, so please encourage your student to study these each night after their Roots.

Roots test every Tuesday. Study Roots 4, then 5 each night this week! We are continuing our in-class novel, filling in character traits and quotes. If this is not completed in the time I give in class, it will be homework. We will finish writing our first expository essay based on primary and secondary sources, having to do with the excessive deaths in Jamestown surrounding the years 1607-1611. We will also continue learning the 13 colonies (East Coast states), then progress to all 50 states. We will test the first 13 colonies Friday, 10/10, so please encourage your student to study these each night after their Roots.

This is just the overview of what we are covering each week. Students and parents are encouraged to ask questions if class is missed or if there needs to be clarification on anything.

Expectation are that all make-up work is completed in a timely fashion in order to receive credit (within a day, or quizzes within the week) in order to earn above a zero. Communication is key; I am reasonable.
