- Our class is beginning their study of the U.S. Constitution, with a focus on the Bill of Rights (first ten amendments). Quizzes on the Bill of Rights will begin this week; Thursdays. Students will receive a study guide and have already taken a practice quiz. Our studies this week and next will consist of reviewing the three branches of government and their main functions.
- Students have Roots 1-9 quiz tomorrow, and they should study them a few minutes each evening. They will have Roots 10 next week, followed by 11 on the 26th.
- On the 18th, we begin our in-class Westward choice novel. Students will choose from Last Dance on Holliday Street, about a young lady who goes in search of her mother in Colorado during the early 1800s, or The Legend of Bass Reeves, based on a black sheriff named Bass Reeves in the old west. They will have daily assignments that will go along with their readings. These are homework if not completed in class.
